It is a family show with a great big heart.

Q: Are you a fan of the series yourself?
MG: This is everything. It is a spiritual thing. I love the show completely. I adore it. And I HATE it when it is not as good as I want it to be (it happens with a few episodes every now and again) I get very critical of it. Annoyed. I think we all do. But I can tell you quite honestly that nobody who works on Doctor Who is a cynic about it in any way. We do love it. We try hard for it, to make it live and bounce and dance. If you keep working in that way, people will enjoy it because of its exuberance. It is not like anything else on TV, or even in cinemas. It is very personal. It's funny, because as a product, it is so chaotic, and so odd and eccentric. But it is nearly always very sincere and sweet-natured and moral, but without being preachy and without being in any way religious. It is a spiritualshow!

I don't know, I make a bit of music and call it Rose. I was in love with Rose/Billie. It made it quite easy : ) I mean, Billie is an utterly utterly adorable person and she has a smile like the sun coming out...then Martha came along and I knew she needed something a little deeper and not quite so innocent...well, I put this into words but it is easier for me to do with music...then Donna, she was bumbling and comic when she first appeared, but her melody is something I can adapt into something more sassy for PiC. Look, I won't hide the fact that my favorite companion is Rose, and to be honest, hers is still my favorite theme...but you find out over the course of a series how the music will develop, just as you find out how the companion's relationship with the doctor will develop. And sometimes their themes need to be updated, or they need a sort of coda (as Rose had in Doomsday) This might prove to be the case this year in the finale for Season 4. I don't know yet though, because I've not seen them! Oh, and yes, of course Astrid had her theme too! I wrote that while I was getting my photo taken at Air and I told the photographer- this is Astrid- and she said: oh, that didn't take you long. It's not how long it takes though, it's just knowing when you have it. A bit like photography when you think about it (I hope that makes sense)

Q: Do you think Donna brings light to the series? Did you want to express that with her themes?
MG: She actually brings judgment rather than light. She is horrified by what she has seen. she thought she was going for a big wild ride, but she sees the darkness in the universe and the death and destruction. It is the most adult relationship and the doctor can look like an irresponsible child because he doesn't seem to feel as much for the people he encounters as Donna does.

I've heard from people that lots of characters come back Usually fans tell me stuff and I hold my hands up and ask them not to spoil it for me.
рандомный факт - он изучал историю в кембридже. не музыку. именно историю) некоторые историки занимаются поистине интересными вещами)
